First off, welcome to Kindergarten!  I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your family.  I cannot wait to work with you to ensure that your child has a positive and memorable beginning to his/her school years.
I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2006, taught Pre-K in Austin ISD for two years, and this is my second year teaching Kindergarten here at Elm Grove.  My husband Stephen and I live in Kyle.  We have a daughter, Keira who was born in May.  We have two dogs, Miller and Peanut, which I am sure your child will be telling you many stories about!  I enjoy scrap-booking, spending time with my family, and collecting frogs.  I know you are probably wondering, “What is with all the frogs?”  The story behind this is that as a baby, when I as learning to crawl, my grandfather thought I looked like a frog.  The nickname stuck, and ever since I have been collecting frogs!
As the year progresses, I will need your help at home to continue the education process.  There will be times that I will need your help for events here at school that will enhance your childs' school experience.  Some of these events include Kinder Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas and Valentine Parties and MUCH more.  We are very busy in Kindergarten and won't be able to enjoy our fun events without your help.

Again, I am so excited about working with you and your child this year.  It is going to be a fun-filled learning experience.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me here at school, 268-8440.  You can also reach me by email at redburnh@hayscisd.net and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
